Nutan was the winner of "Miss India" in 1952.
She was married to Naval Lieutenant-Commander Rajnish Behl in 1959.
Her only son Mohinish is an actor. Her younger sister is actress Tanuja, Kajol's mother.

She received "Padma Shri", in 1974.
Many people may not be aware that she was a good singer too.
I have tried one of her songs from "Chhabili".

Nutan lost her battle with cancer in 1991.

It gives me a two-fold pleasure to know that Nutan also possessed a beautiful voice! Like many others, she is my favorite heroine also ... one of the most attractive personalities, in my view!

You have sung this song beautifully! I agree with Sridhar, not having heard it previously, this is like an original to me! Excellent rendition!

Hello Dr.Paras!!!!
Visited your blog,to tell you the truth i just could not take my eyes from Nutan’s lifelike photo. She is my favourite beauty,a serene beauty and remembered till date for her sobriety, poise and an embodiment of indian womanhood!!!!NUTAN as a singer was an interesting news, heard your song.VERY well rendered and a nice composition too.Whenever i think of her i used to remeber SAWAN KA by IMMORTAL MUKESH and THAT "SORE"is still ringing in my years.Nutan was ravishing and out of the world in that movie.Bollywood has not seen any other beauty after her i would say!!!!

Your singing is enchanting and reminded me GEETADUTT.Voice timber is like hers, and welcome if you could sing some of her Golden oldies. There is one famous song ,i don’t remember the film but the hero is Gurudutt a taxi driver and the heroine Nimmi i am not sure.
If you remember that song will you sing for me?
would love to hear old hits of NOORJAHAN,GITADUTT AND SUMAN KALYANPUR!!!!!!!
Lots of love and Blessings!!!

Asim: Your input was long awaited. Thanks from both of us. I am glad that I posted this song. Nutan's talent was multi faceted.
