Salil Choudhry (Bangla: সলিল চৌধুরী) (November 19,1922-September 5,1995) was a famous Hindi and Bengali composer, poet and a playwright.
One of India's original musical geniuses, he was widely recognised and acknowledged in the Bombay film industry as one of the most prodigious composers ever. He was also proficient in several musical instruments, including flute, the piano and the esraj. He was also widely acclaimed and admired for his inspirational and original poetry.
"Na Jeo Na" marks my first attempt at a Bengali song. Shefali Ranjan helped me with the lyrics. Asim Ghosh has been very kind and has translated the song for me upon request.

Outstanding work with this bengali gem from SalilDa's treasure trove. What a tough song, you sang well. Don't know how often you sing bengali songs, but dictions/pronunciations are very good (except a few ones).
Hats off to you for trying this difficult #, and doing well. Almost all his compositions are difficult to master, this one is no exception. Songs like this one would/should/could never be forgotten. BTW, I think he was the lyricist himself (as he was, for most of his bengali numbers).
Paras, this sounds very sweet! You made it sound so easy! Singing the same song in another language is not easy! I have to give you a credit for this. Awesome!
“O Sajna” is simply beautiful!
You have sung it very well. Bengali is such a beautiful language. I really like this song and also the bengali version of na jiya lage na (na mano...). Would be nice to hear you sing that as well :)
[Regarding “O Sajna”]: very nice. As wonderfully done as the bengali one :)
Very Nice. Keep up the good work.

Paras,
Just beautiful singing. Both the versions are well sung. Nice selection from the classic gems of SalilaDa/Lata/Shailenrda. This is one of my favorites and I enjoyed listening both versions. Well done!
Paras didi,
Loved the rendition -O sajna.
It is one of my favourite classic songs of Lata.
You have rendered the subtle variations so beautifully !! Amazing talent! keep it up !
[O Sajna] Nicely rendered with nice feel and modulations.. ! I think you can add a bit more reverb to the vocals...
Thank you all for your input and encouragement. Thanks Asim for your help.
